WELCOME TO THE MUSICAL WORLD OF JOCELYN C HACH

Jocelyn C Hach is an American musician, composer, and scientist. She has a classical music background and has performed as a professional violist in many classical and non-classical groups. She's been a long time performer of various DIY and experimental noise projects.  Her first solo project, Flying at Night: parallax park, incorporates elements of minimal ambient, atmospheric noise, Renaissance, dream pop, and classical music.  The harp and viola, which are heavily featured on the album, carry you through a musical journey spanning many different sonic realms. She's shared the stage with many musical influences including; Michael Buble, Trans Siberian Orchestra, Smokey Robinson, Evanescence, Disturbed, Mary Wilson, Josh Groban, Lindsay Stirling, Sarah McLachlan, Sarah Brightman, The Breeders, Nobuo Uematsu, and Il Volo just to name a few.

Flying at Night: parallax park is a nine-track exploration that moves from the formal to something supernatural. It combines formal arrangements of viola, violin, harp, and electronics with ambient textures and dark fantasy. Hach’s haunting, androgynous vocals drift throughout the album, with classically inspired chamber compositions guiding the journey.  On the album opener “Through the Spires”, Hach uses only viola, layering the instrument to conjure a spectral waltz. “Anthodite” begins with a pensive harp line, laying the groundwork for drones and faraway percussion to hover above an almost medieval sonic meditation. “Tikrit” goes full dream pop; Hach’s voice channels Julie Cruise, an unexpected burst of color that doesn’t disrupt the overarching dream state of the album.  Tune in below and coming soon to all your favorite streaming services.
